Policy:
- The Iowa Association of Naturalists (IAN) has budgeted $5,000 on a limited-time basis for project proposals. Projects are on a one-time basis and will not supplement previous projects, nor support salaries or stipends or financial gain to awardees.
- Grant applicants must be current IAN members and preference will be given to projects promoting IAN's goals and objectives.
- Grant applicants must secure and show proof of matching funding.
- Grants may or may not be fully funded to the requested amount.
- Grant funds are for projects not covered by work and should focus on environmental education.
- Grant applications are due by March 1 beginning in 2026. Grant evaluation will occur prior to the annual Spring IAN. Awardees will be announced at the Spring IAN Business Meeting.
- Awardees must file a report and final budget, and submit receipts and invoices by December 31st of the subsequent year in order to receive reimbursement.

- Once approved the project may not be changed. If the applicant chooses to change their project, they must return all grant funds and submit a new project.

Application Procedure:
- Applicants will submit a typed application with the information outlined below. Applicants may be required to attend an IAN ExCom to explain their project and its merits for funding.
